All Progress so far!
Hello there👋
PC is broken so I decided to take this time to review the progress of the game and number everything that needs to be done!
- First, what is done:
- Main code:
- Camera
- Menus
- Saving
- Movement
- Dialogue
- "Breakable" and "spintable"
- Currency and store
- Map of death and death
- Interactive objects that can be inspected with the mouse wheel
- Mobs that follow and harm you
- "Optimizer" (object that will disable objects that are far from the player, to ensure that important objects are not disabled, always maintaining the maximum limit of 300 objects)
- Achievements (will trigger steam achievments and stamps on the screen. They will appear in the Achievements screen, which can be accessed from the title menu)
- Radioactive
- An invisible wall that took me a long time to make that prevents the player from bugging on the real walls
- The player code:
- Follow the mouse
- Boost
- Fuel Mechanism
- I don't walk during the speech
- Will receive damage
- Change the sprite using state and speech sprites too
- Main code:
- Now let's go to the finished maps:
- Tutorial map
- Garden
- Middletown
- Death
- Radioactive wormholes
- Bees
- Danger zone
- Farm (one event isn't ready bc I haven't figured out how to do it)
Before I get to the NPCs, I'd like to add the fact that little events like "find the frog with the hat", "push the ball somewhere" and "save the bees" happen within these maps and frankly I've lost count of how many of these Small events do exist, so I'll just say they're all ready and that's what matters, I think.
- Completed NPCs:
- If I list all the NPCs here it will be a huge spoiler, but I can say that we have 15 NPCs that need to have their dialogue reviewed and inserted into the game (which means they need to have the right dialogue happening and displaying the right sprite)
- Completed bosses:
- Same thing, but I can say we have 3/6 done, and the other 3 that need to be done are the final bosses
Here's what we need to finish this game:
15 NPCs and 3 bosses as indicated
These last 3 bosses are particularly difficult because they are the final bosses. They gather all the information about what you've done so far and literally fight you to decide your fate at the end of the game.
Here's another thing that ended up being a big challenge for me, because I wanted the player to feel like every little decision would affect not just his future, but everyone else's as well.
One more thing, the final bosses also have their map.
And then we have the last dialogues within the 6 endings and the cutscenes from the 6 endings of the game!
Alright, let's recap
- Everything is ready, except for the 15 NPCs, the 3 final bosses, an event within the farm map and the 6 final cutscenes of the game.
I'm going to fix my computer and get back to working on the game as soon as possible! Thank you so much for all the support over the last 2 years and even before when this was just an Alpha!
I'll work super hard to make the best game I can and rest too (otherwise my brother would end me)
